This morning I was on the first due engine to a residential structure fire. My partner and I began to make entry for interior attack and found intense rollover and extreme heat. Before we made it back to the front door, the room flashed over. My helmet, helmet shield, turnout coat, and SCBA hose were all burned...my partner's equipment suffered the same damage, including his glove, which were severely burnt.
